Taste buds craved for kesari bath

With the weather miserable, my taste buds craved for something sweet. Strangely it was particular that i wanted to taste or should say eat! .Yup, i wanted to eat kesari bath (a sweet dish) .This is very traditional kannadiga dish served along side a spicy uppma Trust me, am just a okish cook. Given choice i rather not enter the kitchen zone.. ha ha ha. This dish is our family favourite but all depends on the consistency and sweetness at the end. Most of time i don't get it right, but today surprisingly it was perfect...

Ingredients i used
sugar-2 cups( asper your taste buds)
milk-1cup(optional,but tastes better!)
cardamon-3 seeds,just for aroma powdered
boiled water- 4 cups (twice the portion of semolina)
saffron -a pinch (just colouring)
rava/ semolina-2 cups
nuts- i used cashews, sultanas and almonds
ghee-2 tablespoon (1 tablespoon optional)
Ingredients

Method-Fry the nuts with 1 tablespoon melted ghee in saucepan,i had a nonstick pan to make it easier for me,added the sugar and stirred well.Boiled water in kettle, poured into a saucepan till the sugar dissolved. Saffron & cardamon powder added.Mixed the semolina, cooked it for 3-4 minutes till its thick and water well absorbed. At this stage i added milk instead of water to get right consistency.Another tablespoon of ghee over the top(optional one)

desired consistency

Served to myself hot. hmmmmm yummy!!!!!!!!!!
my treat

Finished within few minutes

I must admit, this is definetely not for healthy eaters, but hey ho...its a once a while treat.Enjoyed it without guilt.

If any of tried it, let me know.
